Physicians

At MC-Rx, we stand out for providing physicians with a wide range of services and programs. Some of the main programs and services are:

  • Management of Prior Authorizations

This program manages the medications used to treat chronic and high-risk conditions requiring a specialty pharmacy network. These pharmacies implement clinical interventions, dispense medications, and provide educational support to patients about the conditions that affect them.

  • Clinical Quality Improvement Program

Our expert pharmacy clinicians have developed a wide range of clinical programs for promoting patient safety and the effective utilization of drugs, and, most importantly, identifying any potentially inappropriate use of therapy.

Our programs are focused on improving the quality of patient care, physicians'  prescription patterns, and pharmacy dispensing activities. We believe that education is the cornerstone to preventing medication errors.

MC-Rx has implemented a communication process that includes sharing important information posted by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about medication safety and recalls. To learn more about how our Clinical Quality Improvement Program can help you, please call 1-877-741-7470.

  • Medication Therapy Management Program (MTM)

Designed to satisfy the needs of patients with Medicare Part D coverage, this program offers services through an interdisciplinary Clinical team to treat chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia.

It focuses on optimizing therapeutic results through adequate medication adherence and the reduction of serious side effects, including adverse medication interactions.

  • Adherence to Medication Program

The goal of this program is to improve patients' service quality by providing ways for them to continue their treatment. The program focuses on integrating all patients' care participants to promote therapy adherence, guarantee the appropriate use of medication, and ensure top-level care and satisfaction, all while helping patients manage their conditions.

  • e.Prescribing

The e.Prescribing program gives physicians real- time information on eligibility, formulary, patients' past and current medication history, safety alerts on drug interactions and drug allergies, and other medication-related problems.

This information is available to physicians at prescription time, which promotes the integration of patients' pharmacy benefits, such as mail ordering, prior authorizations, and compliance, among others.

e.Prescribing improves the safety of patient care.

  • Request for Formulary Inclusion or Exclusion of Medication

This program is based on current clinical guidelines and supports physicians in the selection of the most adequate and cost-effective pharmacological treatment for their patients.

By using in-person meetings, this initiative improves knowledge about the cost and coverage of medications, while also providing guidance from MC-Rx specialists on the design of health plans, and specific information on pharmacy benefit programs, formularies, and market trends.

As a physician, you can make recommendations for our formularies. For requesting the inclusion or exclusion of a medication, please email druginfo@mc-rx.com or call 1-877-741-7470.
